by Lori Michiel | Apr 1, 2017
Parkinson’s Disease (PD) is the second most common neurodegenerative disease (behind Alzheimer’s disease) afflicting over 1.6 million people in the U.S. There is no cure for Parkinson’s disease (PD); the cause is still unknown. Currently, there are nearly two million...
What Brings You Peace of Mind?
by Lori Michiel | Mar 1, 2017
Your thoughts can run in your head like a broken record--or can you sit still and “hear” the quiet? Is there an activity, exercise, religious or meditation practice you do regularly to slow your mind? Or do you take medications which can have multiple side effects?...
Fixes for Your New Year’s Resolutions If They Aren’t Holding Up
by Lori Michiel | Jan 18, 2017
If you decided that eating healthy and starting an exercise program in January would make you feel more energized and help alleviate that drag you felt throughout the day…were you able to stick with your plan? Is this the tenth time you promised yourself to lose...
Can Stretching Prevent Injury When You Work Out?
by Lori Michiel | Dec 31, 2016
Touching your toes or moving your head in a circle feels positively wonderful to most healthy adults. But the benefits of stretching are still a puzzle. I was suffering from hamstring pain (self-diagnosed) which I then confirmed by visiting my physical therapist at...

We Have Good Reason to Be Thankful!
by Lori Michiel | Oct 30, 2016
What can you think of that has made a difference to you this year? I always thought of Thanksgiving as my favorite holiday. Back in the 80s, the est training, created by the charismatic Werner Erhard, was both very controversial and popular for those seeking answers...
How do we learn from failure?
by Lori Michiel | Sep 20, 2016
Do we need to fall before we fly? There are countless times I wanted to squirm after I said something embarrassing or unkind to someone before thinking it through first. My husband is very wise. He’ll always say, “forgive yourself and move on.” I tried it last week...
What Does It Mean When You Hear the Words Kinestic Awareness?
by Lori Michiel | Aug 18, 2016
Do you have it? What difference does it make if you don’t? There was nothing more invaluable to my clients than the methods I employed after I completed a course called “Three-Part Cueing.” In my practice, I teach clients ways to improve their form by implementing...
How do you reward yourself after a great accomplishment?
by Lori Michiel | Jul 25, 2016
Other than food, what are your other options? I just received my renewal notice from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) notifying me of my 10-year anniversary as a Personal Trainer. Where did the time go? You might know the story of how I have been able to...
Do Vacations Change You for Good?
by Lori Michiel | Jun 23, 2016
Did you ever think after your vacation you’d come back a transformed person? When my husband and I returned home from our vacation last month, I noticed, other than the obvious feelings of content and relaxation, my clothes felt looser and I felt recharged. No...

Now I can walk better. Also before I was going up the stairs one step at the time. Now I can go up and down by holding from both rails without a problem. I can go up 120 steps and more.
I continue doing all the exercises and they have given me more strength in all my body.
There aren't any words to say how much Lori and her trainer, therapist changed my life forever. Until today, I do the exercises they taught me.
I will thank them forever.
They changed my life. They can change your life too.

Sam Strain – Trainer
Customer care is of the utmost concern to her. She is very knowledgeable about personal training and the workings of the functional human body from a bio-mechanical point of view. She is compassionate about all her clients as they all get her personal touch.
I would feel most comfortable recommending her to anyone that is in need of her services.
Respectfully,

After my mom’s strokes, we knew we needed to help her become active and improve her balance. She didn’t have a good habit of any exercise and none of the local senior classes were appropriate for her.
I’m so glad we called Lori Michiel Fitness. Lori came to the house, met with my mom, listened to her needs, took a careful medical history and matched her with a trainer. He is a wonderful trainer who comes to the house three times a week to help support mom’s recovery. The trainer really understands senior fitness. He gives the whole family peace of mind that we are doing what we can to prevent another fall and keep mom active. Lori checks in with us regularly to make sure the therapy continues to be appropriate for mom. We’re very grateful to her.

I just wanted to send the biggest thank you for joining us at The Variel. You put on such an excellent class and I know our contact at The Variel was really impressed.
I can't say enough good things about your class. You were knowledgeable, engaging, and FUN! I've worked with a number of fitness instructors over the years -- some are good and some are standout, and you quickly revealed yourself to be standout.
I look forward to working with you again in the future, and thanks for donating your time to our special community this past Saturday.
Thanks,
Eileen, Executive Director Parkinson's Resource Organization

Lori's principles of dynamic stretching revolutionized the way I approach stretching. I've seen a great increase in flexibility and have even built additional strength using her techniques.

Lori,
You're amazing...you can pivot in a moment's flash... if you could bottle that productivity and sell it to seniors you could buy California, despite the fact that you already help many people and make their lives better!! Stay YOU!!!
