On April 8, 2015 Lori Michiel, NASM-CPT Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Expert presented a lecture to the T.O.P.S. (Team of Older Persons Services) organization in Beverly Hills.
The presentation, “Considerations in Personal Training for Aging Adults: Assessment and Safe Implementation” focused on how exercise professionals design their programs for their clients. This included the most important assessment components and evaluating the strengths and limitations of seniors. Lori reviewed precautions that need to be considered and pacing to the abilities of the senior.
T.O.P.S. brings together a multidisciplinary group of senior service professionals in a collaborative environment for learning, establishing relationships, sharing expertise, resources and commerce, which benefit older and dependent adults and those concerned for their wellbeing. Those who attended represented healthcare, home health, geriatric care management, chiropractic and finance.
