In this video, Lori walks you through several warm-up exercises to do prior to taking a walk—or any cardio movements. The exercises begin with a simple march and progress to lifting legs higher and swinging arms. To relieve tightness in the legs, hips and arms and also to extend and stabilize back muscles, Lori shows movements that include a step/tap with feet going side and arms from front to back, increasing the range as the exercise progresses. There are variations of knees bent so heels kick up to the back, then crossing knees in the front, across the hips with a lateral motion, which stretches the outer hips. The exercises culminate with a toe tap, then heel tap to the front and side to warm up calf muscles.
