If you would have told me a few years ago that I should Blog, I would have said, “Sure, but that is not for me.” I cringed, when I thought I had absolutely no time to build a new business and find extra time to write. It only took me three years of blogging, once a month to get used to the idea. I knew that it would be good for business, but I didn’t realize that it would be good for my soul too. So, here I am three years later, kicking off my first bi-monthly blog. Actually, if it weren’t for some friends and clients, I would have posted only once a month forever. I hope there is something you read that resonates with you. If so, let me know.

In good health, Lori

What is your master plan for your health? Those years are coming, whether you like it or not. Do you pretend it doesn’t matter, or are you proactive about your health? We place value on many things in our lives, such as family and work; therefore, sometimes our health takes a backseat.

Whenever I fly, I am forced to watch the same safety video over and over again. To tell you the truth, I am not really sure why anyone still needs to be taught how to buckle his or her seat-belt. I digress, sorry. The point is that each time I do, I remember how important it is to take care of myself first (placing the oxygen mask), before taking care of a child sitting next to me. I think this is also true in life. If I cannot take care of myself, I am useless to others, who count on me. If I am not at my best (getting enough sleep, going to sleep with the T.V. on, saying no to certain network meetings), I have less energy and I feel cranky and unproductive. Not a great idea, when I have to give 150% to my clients and family seven days a week.

Then why is taking care of our health any different? We know how fast the last 10 years passed, and the next 10 years will pass by even quicker. So, get ready NOW! Start small. Take just 10 minutes a few times a day to meditate, stretch or jog in place. If you get stuck, you know how to reach me, Lori Michiel Fitness, for a consultation; or just complete the contact form. Good luck!
