Concepts for Living
Following a major career transition, Susan Pomerantz, Founder and CEO of Concepts for Living, ventured into senior services in 1991, where she began her journey at the Jewish Home for the Aging as Director of Volunteer Services. From there, Sue developed prototype volunteer programs for privately owned nursing facilities throughout the Los Angeles area. However, it was her love for hospice that gave her a heartfelt mission. At the inception of a new Southern California hospice, Sue was invited on board as the Director of Community Education and Admissions, as well as the Director of Volunteer Services.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communications from the University of Illinois, Sue actively utilized her background in communications to educate the community in the hospice philosophy. After a most gratifying stay in that field, but recognizing the need for more information on residential options, she departed in 1999 and created Concepts for Living. Since then, the company and their services have grown to incorporate a larger area of service and additional senior housing consultants, all experts with education and depth in the field of senior counseling, specializing in the areas where they work and live.
Sue’s respect and love for seniors is validated daily and her desire to educate always continues. With Concepts, she combines her instincts for listening, encouraging and caring with her formal training in communications, to accomplish the mission of Concepts: helping those in need of direction and change with most appropriate answers to their living needs, to know the choices available to them and hence, the solution.
