Marilyn is the originator of Dancerobics, a system of choreographed dance-exercise to music. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Bucknell University in Pennsylvania and has done graduate work in exercise physiology and dance at UCLA.
Her main interests are Pilates core training, exercise science and psychobiology (the body, mind and spirit connection). Certified by the American Council on Exercise, a member of the American College of Sports Medicine & IDEA (International Dance-Exercise Association) and listed in Who’s Who in the West for her contribution to health enhancement, Marilyn has developed such programs as Aerobics, Dancerobics, Jazz Dance, Ski Fitness, Healthy Back, Personal Training and Nutrition and Fitness seminars such as “The Science of Balance: Fall Prevention Exercises”.
Her humorous lectures on “Leaving Your Fat Behind”, “Chair Today, Gone Tomorrow”, “Never Exercise With A Jerk” and “Cook Naked” are well known to local corporations and community groups. She is a recipient of the Distinguished Woman Award by Delta Kappa Gamma Society International (honorary society for key women educators), honorary chair for The Whittier Women’s and Children’s Crisis Shelter 5K Walk Against Domestic Violence and Club Woman Of The Year at The Hacienda Heights Woman’s Club. Marilyn was also the Health and Fitness Director and the Executive Director at the East Whittier YMCA.
