Julie has been a Group Exercise Instructor since 2010 and became a Certified Personal Trainer in 2012. She is a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Personal Trainer, a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Senior Fitness Specialist and is CPR/AED trained.
She incorporates overall strength, balance, flexibility, safety, efficiency, variety and fun in her exercise programs with clients. Her strongest qualities are listening and helping her clients achieve their goals.
Julie has worked with large and small groups and pivoted into outdoor bootcamps during the pandemic. This evolved into transitioning to home and virtual fitness. She uses a wide variety of tools during her sessions: medicine balls, bands, weights, ropes, Bosu, TRX and steps. She changes the format to constantly challenge her clients and keep it interesting. Julie has worked with a wide variety of clients, from nine to 94-years-old. She is a Lead Trainer in a Cancer Recovery program and has worked with clients healing from spinal cord injuries.
Julie was a high school and collegiate athlete, playing softball for many years. After having children and not prioritizing her health, she embarked on her own fitness journey which led to a 100 pound weight loss and strength training regimen. It was during that time that she discovered her passion for Group Fitness and helping others through Personal Training. She remains committed to teaching classes and maintaining an active lifestyle: snow skiing, pickleball, boxing, Pilates, travel and times with friends and family.
Julie believes health and fitness are achievable for everyone. We all start at different stages in our unique health journeys with room for education and progress in any and every stage of life. One of her favorite things is to receive pictures of clients doing the things they want to do as they age and that they train for. It may be climbing a temple, waterskiing, getting on the floor with a grandchild or hiking. Seeing and feeling results is wonderful and being able to remain active is the goal!
Julie loves working with people and is grateful to be able to work in a field she is passionate about.
